In this hands-on workshop, students will learn the art of filmmaking from script to screen. Students will work together as a film crew to generate ideas, master camera, lighting, and sound techniques, as well as learn the basics of editing. All of this will result in the production of our very own short film! No prior filmmaking experience is required! (Class size: 7 – 10)

Dates: 10/11 – 12/14 (No class 11/22) (9 Weeks, Thursdays):

Filmmaking Fridays! (MS) – Closed

Love movies and filmmaking? Develop your filmmaking skills in our NEW Friday afternoon workshop! In this hands-on workshop, students will create an original short film while gaining hands-on experience producing, directing, shooting, recording, lighting, and editing with Premier Pro! Exercise your creativity and have fun while honing your filmmaking skills! (Class size: 7 – 10)

Dates: 10/12 – 12/15 (No class 11/23) (9 Weeks, Fridays):
Time: 3:30pm – 6:00pm

Screenwriting (MS)

Students will learn the fundamentals of screenwriting from format to techniques to story structure. Students will analyze the work of successfully produced screenplays to learn what it takes to write for film and television, as well as receive valuable feedback from their peers and their instructor as they create their own original short, feature, or television scripts! No previous screenwriting experience is required. (Class Size: 7 – 10)

Dates: 10/16 – 12/4 (8 Weeks, Tuesdays)

SFX Make-up Design: Zombie Apocalypse! (11+)

Want to make a horror film or just kill it on Halloween? In this hands-on workshop, a professional SFX make-up artist will teach you how to bring back the dead using a professional death palette. Leave class with scary new skills – and the goods to turn your friends and family into walkers! (Class Size: 10 – 16)

Editing with Premiere Pro (11+) 

This hands-on beginner workshop will cover the interface, controls, and features of the industry-standard software Adobe Premiere Pro. Students will learn how to combine video, still images, and music to tell their stories. (Class size: 7 – 11)

Dates: 12/2 and 12/9 (2 weeks, Sundays)
Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm
