Do you want to write an original script but don’t know where to begin? In this workshop, you’ll analyze the work of successfully produced screenplays to discover the fundamentals of screenwriting and receive invaluable feedback as you create your own short script.

Do you wish you were more prepared for auditions in and outside of school? Through acting exercises, improvisation, scene work and monologues, Broadway, TV and film actor Ellen Lancaster will give you the tips you need to feel more confident and prepared for your next audition. We will also cover camera technique and broadening your skills to include acting for new media. (Class Size: 8 – 15)

IMPROV FOR ADULTS
The fundamentals of improvisation are the fundamentals of life. Listening, agreeing, forwarding action, taking care of your partner and so much more! Whether you want to be on stage or not, taking an improv class you’ll have the opportunity to discover more about yourself – plus you get to explore all those crazy ideas in your head in the safety of a class. Instructor: Gary Rudoren is an original member of the nationally-recognized Annoyance Theater in Chicago where he was a director/actor/writer and teacher for almost 20 years. He also taught and directed at The Second City in Chicago and The Magnet Theater in NYC. He is co-author of the McSweeney’s humor bible “Comedy By The Numbers” and his plays have been performed all around the country as well as in the UK.
FILMMAKING 101 WORKSHOPS
In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to generate ideas for their films, and the basic fundamentals of filmmaking including storyboarding, shot composition, camera angle, lighting and sound. With an emphasis on practical, guerilla-style filmmaking, students will discover how to bring their ideas to life and get their short films made!
