S2: Filmmaking Bootcamp II

Did you love Filmmaking 1 and want to continue learning about film? Or, do you already have experience making films and feel ready to take the next step to improve your craft? In this intermediate hands-on workshop, emerging filmmakers will learn how to bring their projects to the next level by digging deeper into the elements of film such as cinematographic theory and editing used by master filmmakers to tell compelling stories. Students will also have an opportunity to screen, analyze and discuss a variety of classic and contemporary films in our in-house theater, Cinema 505. Final films will be screened for friends and family in Cinema505 on the last day of class! Filmmaking 1 or previous experience recommended. (Class size: 8 – 12)

S2: High School Screenwriting

Students will learn the fundamentals of screenwriting from format, to techniques, to story structure. Students will analyze the work of successfully produced screenplays to learn what it takes to write for film and television, as well as receive valuable feedback from their peers and their instructor as they create their own original short, feature, or television scripts! No previous screenwriting experience is required. (Class Size: 8 – 10)

S2: High School Filmmaking

In this hands-on filmmaking bootcamp, students will learn the art of narrative filmmaking from script to screen. Students will work together as a film crew to generate ideas, work with actors, and master camera, lighting, and sound techniques. Students will also learn the basics of editing with Adobe Premiere Pro. In each class, students will work both behind and in front of the camera, in both exterior and interior locations, so that they can gain as much experience as possible. All of this will result in the production of our very own short film which will be screened in our in-house theater, Cinema505 at the end of the workshop. No prior filmmaking experience is required..(Class size: 7 – 12)
