Anne (Diane Lane) is at a crossroads in her life. Long married to Michael (Alec Baldwin), a successful, driven, and inattentive movie producer, she unexpectedly finds herself taking a car trip from Cannes to Paris with Jacques (Arnaud Viard), a business associate of her husband who enjoys the finer things in life. What should be a seven-hour drive turns into a carefree two-day adventure, replete with diversions involving picturesque sightseeing, fine food and wine, humor, wisdom and, perhaps, a little romance to reawaken Anne’s senses and inspire her with a new zest for life.
