Director Brett Haley (I’LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS) returns to the MFF with his latest triumph, THE HERO. Lee Hayden (Sam Elliott, in an unforgettable performance) is an aging film star, looking for new roles to play and spending his days somewhat adrift in contemporary Los Angeles. When Lee gets a piece of bad news, he is forced to confront his past, his family, an emerging relationship with Charlotte (Laura Prepon), and the fundamental meaning of his own life and work. THE HERO is a beautifully crafted story about the roles and responsibilities that shape our lives.
