HOW CAN I PURCHASE A TICKET?
All tickets must be purchased in advance and online at MontclairFilm.org
HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
- Opening Film: $65 per car/$60 per car for members
- Centerpiece + Closing Films: $45 per car/$40 per car for members
- All Other Films: $30 per car/$25 per car for members
Space is very limited at Carpool Theater Events so purchase your tickets early!
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED IN THE CAR?
Each ticket admits 1 car. For optimized viewing we recommend 2 passengers per car as visibility may not be ideal in the back seats of smaller cars.
WHY IS ‘WILL CALL’ MY ONLY TICKET DELIVERY METHOD OPTION?
We will have a contactless check in set up at the entrance to the event, checking all guests in by the name used to purchase your ticket. You do not need a physical copy of your ticket for admittance.
WHERE IS THE SCREENING LOCATED?
All screenings will take place at the South Mountain Recreation Complex (Archery Field) located at 5 Cherry Lane, West Orange, NJ 07052. The Archery Field is located diagonally across the street of the side entrance of McLoone’s Boathouse. There are 3 entrances to the Archery Field – the 2 entrances closest to Northfield Avenue will be marked as ‘Exit Only’. Look for the Montclair Film signage for the main entrance.
WHEN DOES THE FILM START?
Sunset is approximately 6:15pm, we will start the introductions at 6:25pm and the film will start promptly at 6:30pm. Our second film will begin at 9:30pm.
HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?
For the first film at 6:30pm, the lot will open at 5:30pm. For the 9:30pm film, we will not open the lot until 9:00pm. Please do not arrive earlier than 9:00pm as we need to safely load out the earlier film and will not have a place for you to wait.
WHERE AND HOW DO I PARK MY CAR?
Once you have been checked in, Montclair Film staff members and volunteers will escort you to a parking spot. All cars will be parked facing forward. There will be 6′-8′ between each car. Parking is first come, first served with the exception of larger/taller vehicles that may obstruct the view of cars behind them. For sightline reasons, taller vehicles such as SUVs and trucks will be parked towards the rear of the venue so as not to block the views of smaller cars. If you have an emergency and need to leave early once the film starts, please call (973) 783-6435 before proceeding out of your spot. Please see below for social distancing parking protocols.
WHAT SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS ARE IN PLACE?
All vehicles will be parked at least 6′ apart. Masks/face coverings must be worn by all patrons when they’re outside of their vehicle. You may keep your car windows open and have the top down in a convertible but NO lawn chairs will be allowed. For a full list of COVID protocols, please click here.
WILL THE DRIVE-IN TAKE PLACE IN BAD WEATHER?
Events will continue under most weather conditions. In the event of sustained heavy wind or an imminent heavy storm, we may need to delay a screening until weather conditions pass, or in a worst case scenario reschedule a film. In the event of a rescheduling, the screening will take place on one of the rain dates during the festival.
HOW CAN I HEAR THE FILM?
The audio will be a quality FM stereo sound that is tuned directly through your car’s FM stereo. Turn your key to accessory mode to keep your stereo on. If you don’t have an FM stereo, please bring a portable radio. There will be no amplified sound at the events.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CAR BATTERY DIES FROM USING THE RADIO ALL NIGHT?
Most patrons do not experience a dead battery at the evening’s end but if your car battery does die, put on your flashers and a Montclair Film staff member will be right over to jumpstart your car. If you are concerned, we recommend turning your car on a few times during the movie. To prevent a dead battery, avoid using your lights, heating, or air conditioning for the duration of the screening.
WILL THERE BE A RESTROOM AVAILABLE?
Port-o-potties will be available on-site and will be disinfected between each use. When exiting your vehicle to go to the bathroom, please wear a mask. Once you are in line, please be prepared to leave 6’ of distance between yourself and those around you.
WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED AT CARPOOL THEATER EVENTS?
For the safety of our patrons, we do not allow firearms, weapons of any kind, drugs (including marijuana and cigarettes) or alcoholic beverages.
CAN I USE MY CAMERA/PHONE AT THE DRIVE-IN?
You are allowed to use your phone during the Drive-In experience, however, if you are seen recording the film(s), you will immediately be asked to delete all footage, your device will be confiscated, and only returned to you at the end of the screening.
WHAT DO I DO AFTER THE FILM ENDS?
After the film ends, a Montclair Film staff member will direct you to the exit. Please remain in your spot until you’re given the go-ahead to leave.
WILL FOOD BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE?
Please consider ordering takeout from one of these wonderful Montclair businesses in our RESTAURANT GUIDE to pick up and bring with you to the event.
**There will not be a garbage can available for disposal so please make sure you collect all your garbage to take off the premises at the end of the night.
