PURPLE RAIN
On behalf of all of us here at the MFF and Van Vleck House and Gardens, please accept our sincere apology for the very unexpected, premature and wet ending to our free Summer Series screening of PURPLE RAIN, an evening that started off so beautifully.
With the change of date, the sprinkler system schedule at Van Vleck House and Gardens was not adjusted to accommodate our event.
We feel terrible about the oversight and rush out of the garden—and are so sorry for the interrupted movie.
We hope you will join us for our next screening of THE WIZ on Friday, July 29th at the main branch of the Montclair Public Library.

A victim of his own anger, the Kid (Prince) is a Minneapolis musician on the rise with his band, the Revolution, escaping a tumultuous home life through music. While trying to avoid making the same mistakes as his truculent father (Clarence Williams III), the Kid navigates the club scene and a rocky relationship with a captivating singer, Apollonia (Apollonia Kotero). But another musician, Morris (Morris Day), looks to steal the Kid’s spotlight — and his girl. Rated R.
