Never having been fully integrated into the sports curriculum at most American public high schools, the game of lacrosse has developed a reputation as primarily a sport for elite students. So when Coach Bobby Selkin decides to introduce the game to a group of at-risk young men who have never played, expectations for success are low. But when the players grow into the game through hard work and dedication, they discover that the team offers more than they expected: competition, opportunity, and the chance to forge relationships that will last a lifetime.
