In Michael Tyburski’s THE SOUND OF SILENCE, Peter Lucian (Peter Sarsgaard) has an unusual if highly successful career; a “house tuner” who works amid the noise and stress of New York City real estate, Peter spends his days acoustically calibrating people’s homes in order to bring them comfort and a better life. But when Peter meets Ellen (Rashida Jones), a depressed transplant from the midwest struggling to find contentment in her new apartment, his life takes an unexpected turn, challenging his ambitions. THE SOUND OF SILENCE is a lovely, wry film about the sounds that shape us.
