In a culture driven by procedure and protocol, Radu Jude remains the undisputed king of the Romanian social comedy, making films that are unsparing in their depiction of the absurdities of everyday life in Romania. Jude’s latest film, KONTINENTAL ‘25, is no exception. Orsolya (Eszter Tompa) is a bailiff in Cluj, the largest city in Transylvania. One day, she is asked to evict a homeless man who lives in the basement of a building, setting off an unexpected moral crisis that shakes her to her core.
