Left-Handed Girl

Mothers and daughters have been the basis of many classic films, but few have given us a street-level view of the power dynamics of love and conflict like Shih-Ching Tsou’s LEFT-HANDED GIRL. Set amid the bustling street markets of contemporary Taipei, the film details the lives of a single mother and her two daughters as they hustle to make ends meet and preserve their family unit. Tsou’s big-hearted drama was produced and edited by her longtime collaborator Sean Baker (ANORA), but the vision, sensitivity, and style are all her own.
