Brittany Shyne’s beautifully photographed and tenderly told SEEDS looks into the lives of Black generational farmers, unveiling the challenges of maintaining legacy and the value of land ownership. Patient and deeply interested in the day-to-day workings of family farms, the film examines the legacy of black farming and its impacts on the families whose access to resources and support have always been tenuous. The winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, SEEDS is a moving portrait of an endangered way of life.
