In the early 1990s, a group of teenage film students in upstate New York joined a maverick English teacher’s filmmaking class in the hopes of documenting their experiences, school, and what was happening around their community. But when they started asking questions about a public landfill, they accidentally uncovered a vast conspiracy involving toxic waste that was poisoning their community. TEENAGE WASTELAND follows the students through their original footage and, some thirty years later, contemporary interviews that allow them to revisit their film and confront the legacy of this transformative experience.
