Before there was a voluntary film rating system, there was the notorious Production Code, which censored the content of films. And before there was the Production Code, there were raucous, sexy comedies like THE GREEKS HAD A WORD FOR THEM, a hilarious examination of life’s guilty pleasures. When three Broadway gold diggers (Ina Claire, Joan Blondell, Madge Evans) in Chanel gowns go looking for millionaires to spoil them, things quickly get competitive. The Montclair Film Festival is proud to present the recently restored 1932 classic THE GREEKS HAD A WORD FOR THEM.

Special Introduction by Margaret Bodde, Executive Director, The Film Foundation

Restored by the Library of Congress and The Film Foundation. Funding provided by the Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation.
